THE SWEETEST MAN I'VE EVER KNOWN

1969 David is the sweetest man I've ever known......Alzheimer's or not!

Although he has this horrible disease, he is still so intelligent, thoughful in so many ways, and agreeable (especially when I agree with him). Before he started on his medication, I could see his personality changing....broke my heart. He would be defensive, depressed and angry at times, but after he started on Aricept and Namenda, and the drugs 'kicked in'.... his sweet and agreeable personality was here again.
I was spurred-on to do this blog entry, because I was tired mentally and physically one evening, and didn't feel up to cooking dinner. I ask David how a can of chicken noodle soup sounded for dinner? He came over to me, giving me a kiss, and said that chicken noodle soup sounded great to him, and then he told me how much he appreciated all that I do for him. He's so sweet!

We were sitting on our patio earlier in the evening, when David saw the flying objects again in the sky, and then he described them to me.......... this is the strangest thing....... a few minutes later, all is normal again ..... as normal as can be...our new normal.....

Here's a photo of David sweeping our little sidewalk..... Sweeping gives him something to do and it helps him to feel productive, and ..... it's hard to make a mistake when you're sweeping.

We love our garden home, with a smaller yard, and how lucky are we to have donkeys, Henry and Schatzi, in the field behind our house. Every day you can see David feeding these spoiled donkey's carrots or apples .... When the fence was installed, I had it cut to a lower height to accomodate the feeding of the donkeys. And I say, "thank you God for a sweet, gentle, and thoughtful man, for areas to sweep and donkeys to feed."

Hi Aunt D! What a sweet post! David is the nicest man I know...what a relief it must have been to see the medicine helped his moods. I love that he feeds the donkeys...and how sweet of you to build the fence so that he could! Your yard look fabulous!! :-) Love ya! L~

Hi Dolores,

Wanted to say "thanks" for stopping over at my blog and commenting. It is always nice to meet new people in blogland and to get helpful suggestions.

I am sorry to hear that your husband has this terrible disease but you seem to be a positive person.

God Bless you both,
Cheri
