David really enjoys swimming and floating around in our little pool. I know that being outside and the exercise are good for him. Swimming makes him happy and gives him something that he can do all by himself without my help.
I choose David's clothes and help him get dressed each day. Today was Rotary, and as I was helping him with his shirt .... he said, "ahhh so I'm wearing the same shirt that I wore to church on Sunday"....and it was the same shirt that I'd chosen for him on Sunday. He's never cared about clothes, so the fact that he paid attention to what he wore on Sunday and remembered on Tuesday, made me smile!

Funny, when the Neurologist ask him a question .....he usually says he doesn't know and won't attempt to answer.
David still remembers the days of the week. Saturday mornings I take our recycling items to the dumpsters at Wal Mart. This week when I was working around the house (I'd forgotten about recycling) David reminded me that I needed to take our recycling to Wal Mart.
He's never forgotten that Tuesday is Rotary and Sunday is Church........ I know these days won't last, but for the good days now...... I'm so thankful.
And I say, "thank you God for the good days....!"

Hi... I found you on Krista's Alzheimer's blog. I figured I would drop by and say hello. My Mother had Alzheimer's.. she passed away on 4/30 of this year. She forgot a lot of things... but she never forgot my Father or any of us! (Her 5 children). If you come to my blog... go back a three or four posts and you can read all about her. She was such an amazing woman!
Your Husband reminds me a alot of my Mom. She always amazed me with things she retained! :)
I will be praying for the both of you!
