I'm always a bit fearful of bragging on how well David is doing.....seems like when I brag, then he'll have a dip in the curve, but I'm going to say it anyway....... right now....he's doing good.
This is the first year we haven't put up a Christmas tree, not sure why, but I just didn't want to. Our best friends even offered to come over and help, but I decided to just decorate with Poinsettia's and our Nativity sets. I've never been a 'collector' of anything, but I suppose I do collect Nativity sets. This is the first Nativity set we bought - 1963 - It's sitting on top of the TV in the previous blog post.
I love the simplicity of this Nativity, made from Olive wood, we bought it in Israel.
My best friend gave us this sweet Nativity
Each Nativity set is my favorite..... this one is so sweet!
This Nativity was bought the year our daughter's family was adopting their first child from China........
The children can play with the Fontanini set, unbreakable (maybe).
A plate Nativity on the mantle, given to me by my best friend....
The Lenox set our daughter started for us...
Another favorite....
Another......
and another.....
We've had this one for over 40 years.....
How blessed we are .......... as we remember that Jesus is the reason !!
And I say, "Praise God!"

I love all of your Nativity sets...they are beautiful. I have the one that is just Mary, Joseph and Jesus and is one piece, Joseph has on the maroon robe and Mary has a blue head piece. I leave it out all year and I have my Willow Tree set out all year too. Your trust in Him blesses my heart.
Ad they laid him in a manger.
Delores, honey, you do collect.. art! They are all lovely. I don't collect anything, well, I don't think dust bunnies count. :)
Dolores, I have been waiting for this post. You really do collect nativities. And such beautiful sophisticated ones as well. I've never seen such a nice collection. One could well be reminded of our Saviour with your decorations. I'm not sure what my favorite would be, I liked several. I also loved the way that you displayed them; especially the Lenox ones with the gold beads. Your house is lovely. I'm so glad that David is 'doing well'
(she said cautiously) I still miss my mom at Christmas; she made the season special.

Well I would certainly say you have a collection! They are all beautiful. We have one small one and I keep wanting to get a bigger one. I'm always hunting for the perfect one. So many versions and variations. Merry Christmas to you and David!

Hello there! Your Nativity collection is truly lovely. I only have one .... and the pieces are all older than me! My Mother gave them to me early in her Alzheimer's journey. I treasure each and every piece! Standing guard over the scene is an angel she made in Memory Care here in Bend - also a treasure!
Hi Dolores,
I'm so glad that you shared your nativities with us. They are all beautiful and you have displayed them so nicely. I couldn't choose favorites, but I have seen the Lenox one in stores and think it is very elegant and I also think that the one from Israel is unique and must hold special memories.
I hope David's good days continue.
Dolores,
Your nativities are truly beautiful. I think the one from Israel is my favorite. Your displays and accents of evergreen are just elegant and beautiful.
I am so glad to hear of David's good days. There is a peace of mind that comes to us when those we love are doing well. I think it is God's way of giving us a reprieve---what the scriptures refer to as "peace that passes all understanding". Even a few moments of the peace of God is renewing--restoring--refreshing.
May His peace come to you, David, and your family this holiday season and bless you in the year ahead.
In Grace,
Marie
Aunt Dolores,
I'm 46 and never knew you collected nativity sets until now!! What a beautiful collection!! I think the one after China is my favorite...but I'm like you, it's awfully hard to have A favorite!
Your house is MAGNIFICENT!!!!
Don't worry about the tree...I haven't put one up in years. I think we're supposed to do what we feel like doing each year...and whatever that is is okay. :-)
I love you!!

Wow mom, I didn't even know you had that many :-0
I've always known that you like them though!
Each one is so unique and different! They look beautiful!
Oh and I meant to comment on the white and red poinsettia! It's gorgeous!
What a lovely, comfortable home you have. If you wish, take a look at my other blog: www.freshairlife.blogspot.com I have featured a story (Dec.9th) on a local lady who makes nativity sets. She's very talented.
