My brother gave me a pretty plate one year for my birthday with this quote:
Time is too slow for those who wait.
Too swift for those who fear.
Too long for those who grieve.
Too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity. by: Henry Van Dyke
(my brother was always an inspiration to me)
I
was wondering what the heck my next blog entry would be .... (
I try to do one on Tuesday or Wednesday). It feels so
good if it's an inspired happening.
Well, it happened yesterday when I went to AlzCare!
David's lived there since January 2nd and at times it seems like yesterday and then it feels like forever. (Time is so mysterious.)
I still reach over at night to touch him. I feel so sad that he isn't here with me, but I'm comforted knowing that he's being cared for by loving people.

(my brother's daughter, Laura and David ..the year he was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer's - 2005)
I felt a nudging yesterday afternoon to go see David. I prayed on the way over there, "please let me feel good about the evening caretakers."
(our trip to Arkansa in 2006, with our granddaughter, Francie)
I was kneeling next to his bed, rubbing lotion on his body when a sweet lady named JoAnne came into the room and introduced herself to me. She said she'd only worked there for one month, but wanted to let me know how David was doing and told me of her interaction with him. Wow, what a blessing!
She expressed to me that it is her passion to work with Alzheimer patients. I could immediately tell her love and compassion for the work (ministry) she is performing with each of the patients and the family members. I'm so happy she's there!

(my precious niece, Laura and her husband, Tom)
God answered my prayers bigger and better than I hoped and prayed for.
(Francie)
God is good!
Thank you Laura for your caring and loving spirit that always surrounds me.

Hello Dolores, Is Laura the wonderful niece that leaves comments signed - L-? She does truly care about you and David. I can read the love in her comment.
It is wonderful to hear about the new caregiver at the home for David. It just takes one to make everything so right. I hope she continues there and I am sure she will be a blessing for you and David.
I hope that somehow you are trying to enjoy some of these summer days. Just know that God is with you every step of the way. Well, I guess you do know that.
How like God to answer prayers and to surround David with good people. I believe, and I'm sure that you do, too, that David is always receiving the ministry of God's provision just as we all are having placed our lives in His hands.
I really like the gift your brother gave you.
Love to you all...
There Really are a Lot of good, caring people in this old world...I'm so thankful she's there for you both!!

How nice of JoAnne to introduce herself to you. It is so nice to know that her passion is in the area of Alzheimer's care. You know David is in good hands with people like that.
Your prayers were answered in a most beautiful way.
Hugs to you,

I am just so glad that David is getting excellent care. That must really make you feel so good, Dolores. Thanks for featuring Laura here too. She is just as beautiful as you are. Thanks also for your bday greetings to my mom...Christine
So wonderful to read this and see Laura posting as well. This plate and its message makes me realize how important it is to leave footprints on this earth.
Thank you, LORD, so the specific answer to prayer that you provided for Dolores. Please strengthen David's caregivers and give Dolores strength for her days now. In Jesus matchless name, Amen.
God does answer prayer, and He does care for us. Sometimes it is easy to forget, but then I read a post like this and it reminds me that yes indeed, He is there in the small things and the big things in our lives. He cares, He does!
So thankful for caregivers that really care, for blessed peace when times get tough, for songs that make us remember and cry and for memories of better times. God bless, sweet lady.
How comforting to know that your dear David is in good hands, and "that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us" :)
When we lease expect it God shows us that he is always there and that he loves all of us. What a blessing to have that worker there caring for David. I absolutely love the verse your brother gave you on that plate and your nice Laura is a doll. Thank God for good family members and close friends. Prayers, Lu

Wow! What a gift you received that night! I'm always amazed by the wonderfully caring people who give so unconditionally to those who they really have no blood connection to. That is so wonderful and encouraging!! What a huge blessing to have loving and kind caregivers! It helps us remember God knows, and he cares for our loved ones as much as we do, and has put wonderful people in the world who have lots of love to give and share. What a testimony of God's love. So thankful for this blessing for you! You are in my thoughts and prayers!! Hugs!
