THE BLESSINGS OF ANIMALS - PAST AND PRESENT

David wore a suit and tie to work 5 days a week, and then on Sunday for church, but this is the way I remember him best...old jeans, old hat, gloves, boots, and a dog by his side.

Over the years, we've had so many wonderful pets in our life. We've had dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, fish, and then the frogs that Karen brought into the house... eeeeek!

I do believe that animals are given to us by God, for our happiness.....we give to them, and they give so much love back to us.

David has always loved his dogs! He would hate to admit it, but he's also loved our cats.
Last summer at the beach with Ginger and Casey
After David was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, our children would tell me, "daddy needs a dog" and I would say, "NO." We had our cat, but it had been 13 years since we had a dog, and I was so leary of getting a new pet.
God heard our children....and then he spoke to me about a dog. After a lot of thought and many prayers, Casey came into our life almost 2 years ago. She's been the most wonderful companion for David. He absolutely adores
her, and she adores him.
Our children, Jeff and Karen with one of the many kittens/cats we've had over the years.

Christmas morning, Santa brought hamsters ....eeek!

Karen has a Mulberry moth sitting on the end of her nose.

Jeff and cousin, Laura, probably 9 months old, with our poodle, Monique.
Our dachshund, Heidi...was a great pet.
Imagine my surprise when I found this little Opossum in the garage resting in the cat's bed..........
Sissy, another sweet cat of the past......
Casey and her girl friend.....Kayla (isn't she beautiful and just as sweet)

Casey and her boy friend, Cam...he lives next door.
The sweetest picture of all! David holding his baby......what a blessing

And I say, "thank you God for all the animals that have touched our lives over the years."
