My purpose for sharing our story is to shine a ray of hope to anyone with a new diagnosis of Alzheimer's. It is an awful disease, and I hate it so much, but so is parkinson's, cancer, and all the other diseases. We just happen to be living with this one........cherish each day,....we've had more good days than I ever expected.
David was diagnosed with Alzheimer's on October 2005. Three years later, I find myself thankful that he's still doing so well. I praise God we live during a time when there are medications that sometimes hold Alzheimer's at bay ...... for how long, we don't know, but we're thankful for each day, and make the most of our time together.
I thank God for our family, friends and our church, without their love, encouragement, and acceptance, this journey would be so much harder.
We don't know what tomorrow brings, but we have today, and we'll embrace every minute of everyday and move forward with our life.
