PRECIOUS JEWELS

PRECIOUS JEWELS IN POPE'S LIFE

David still enjoys having family and friends to visit, and he enjoys going to visit. If he gets an over-load, he just goes off to himself for awhile.
In the past, he's gotten agitated when we've gone to a large event and there's a lot of noise and confusion. I've learned this is easy to solve .... we just avoid those situations.

I thank God that David still enjoys going to our Sharer's Sunday school class and the church service. Even though our class is sometimes loud and large........ this doesn't bother him. Everyone in our class is always so loving to him.

David still remembers that Tuesday is Rotary day. He looks forward to going to the meetings, eating lunch with the men, and listening to an interesting program. He says he feels bad that he can't participate, but I'm so thankful that he still wants to go and enjoys it.
We're so grateful to have a friend who comes by each week to take him and bring him home. Thank you Bob!!!
I'm thankful that David still remembers that Wednesday is trash day!
With Alzheimer's one learns to appreciate a lot of things, that in the past, we took for granted.
Yesterday at Sunday school he found page 106 in our hymnal .....I was so excited!

I'm so thankful that I have wonderful photos of David with his grandchildren, who are his jewels! I love the photo of him, ....when the children dressed him as a nun, having pretend hot tea with Ellie, playing army men with Andrew, playing a game of cards with Francie, holding Cameron at a baseball game, rocking Laura, riding on a 4 wheeler with Eric, dancing with Matthew at Port Aransas, swimming with Sarah and David, and sharing his puppy with Jillian.
I thank God for good times past and present.

What a sweet post! This really does inspire me to appreciate the small things in life we so often take for granted. I'm so glad he has so many beautiful jewels around him...and I know what a jewel he has been to all of them! L~
