1946 - Me... playing 'dress up' in the same little white dress ......
2009 - The little white dress, framed and hanging on our wall.
Ahhh, I love reminiscing over old photos......David wasn't a 'speedy' person, but with Alzheimer's ...... he's even slower. I'm learning to allow more time for him to eat, get dressed, shave..etc. Trying to rush him, only slows him more, and then he feels anxious and upset. My test is learning to be patient.
We've been married for 46 years, and during those years, David was always (until now) very neat and organzied about everything.............. Sometimes I feel like a stranger has moved into our home. For him to try hanging his clothes on a hanger is so frustrating for him..... He will think he's folding his clothes, and he's actually wadding them into a ball. My test is learning to be patient.
And I say, "thank you God for patience ......I have a long way to go, but I'm better than I was."
This is MY test!!!

You and I have undertaken similar projects ... I spent the entire day yesterday organizing albums, important documents, invoices, tax returns ~ you name it, I organized it! I have so much for the shredder, I can't posibbly subject my home model - this requires a trip to the shredder truck that makes an appearance around town from time to time.
Patience ~ I really appreciate what you are experiencing now. Last week I had to get coats from residents' rooms for the walk across the street to Happy Hour. Coats and jackets are never where you might expect them to be, lipstick, hairbrushes, hand lotion-I now look for them in the totally unexpected places! Kind of like a scavenger hunt .... just breathe my dear.
Awwwww...I love the pics. Makes me feel awfully sentimental. You know patience has NEVER been my virtue either so I totally understand!
I'm so glad you have each other! Love you! L~
