1946 - Me... playing 'dress up' in the same little white dress ......
2009 - The little white dress, framed and hanging on our wall.
Ahhh, I love reminiscing over old photos......David wasn't a 'speedy' person, but with Alzheimer's ...... he's even slower. I'm learning to allow more time for him to eat, get dressed, shave..etc. Trying to rush him, only slows him more, and then he feels anxious and upset. My test is learning to be patient.
We've been married for 46 years, and during those years, David was always (until now) very neat and organzied about everything.............. Sometimes I feel like a stranger has moved into our home. For him to try hanging his clothes on a hanger is so frustrating for him..... He will think he's folding his clothes, and he's actually wadding them into a ball. My test is learning to be patient.
And I say, "thank you God for patience ......I have a long way to go, but I'm better than I was."
This is MY test!!!
