HAPPY NEW YEAR - - and - - Happy Blog Anniversary to me!

Thank you Laura!!!

December 2008,  our niece, Laura..... started encouraging me to start a blog about our Alzheimer's journey.   January 1, 2009:   my first blog entry, and oh my goodness, how I thank her for encouraging me.  Before I started the blog, I was keeping a journal, but the journal has gone by the way side,  Moving Forward with Alzheimer's is my journal, with pictures included.

Before 2009, I must admit that I 'snickered to myself' when our daughter and niece would speak of their blog friends.  Ok, now I GET IT!   I had no idea how much inspiration, knowledge and love I would receive from friends all over the country reading my blog.............. I call each one "friend!"

Before Alzheimer's entered our life, I did volunteer work,  ...... I was a busy person, always on the go.   Now I stay home a lot more,  but I'm not complaining, we have a great life, it's just different.
David has changed so little in the year 2009 (Praise God).... tomorrow and the next few days,  I'm going to re-post my first three or four blog entries from January 2009,  for anyone  new to Moving Forward with Alzheimer's.

I wish each of you a Happy New Year,  and to me Happy Blog Anniversary.
And I say, "thank you God .......thank you!"

Dolores, I know what you mean about blogging. I used to tell people that did that they needed to get a life! My daughter set mine up for me and I've really enjoyed it. It has well enriched the life I have. Thank your neice for me, because I'm thankful for our blogging friendship. I know your life has changed. None of us knows the direction life will take us in with our loved ones. I'm glad David's progression seems to be slow and I hope you have many more good years. I hope the coming year is a great one for you!
We're staying in tonight. I have a flan in the oven and fajitas marinating for supper. We have a reprieve in our snow right now, but the temperatures are dropping and it will be 'wicked' cold, as they say in Maine.
See ya next year, friend!
Toodles, Debbie

Of course ... I rank myself among your most ardent supporters! You are right - 2009 was good and my prayer is that 2010 is just as good for you and for David. Happy blog anniversary.

Dolores,
I absolutely love the picture of you and David. You both look so full of joy---and isn't that just like our precious Lord? He gives the joy that sustains us and becomes our strength.
My prayer for you and David is that this year will be a year of peace and joy with little or no worsening in David's condition. I pray each day is filled with such overwhelming love and comfort---even when it seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel. God will be there and I will be in prayer as will many others.
You are right when you say that out "blogging" friends are some of the dearest and best. I have met so many in the past year and now I have added you to the list. You encourage me so and I am grateful that God led meto your site.
Blessings to you today and always, my sweet friend.

In Grace,
Marie
