Oh my gosh, I can't begin to say how important it is to surround yourself with friends and family!!!!!
If you've been honest with everyone about Alzheimer's, this can give you the opportunity to educate people about the disease, and in return ....... your family and friends will give you the love, support, listening ears, and advice you need. It's a win / win situation!
Family and friends are one of God's many gifts!
I've discovered that some people are hesitant about asking David or me ..... "how he's doing?" For us, don't be afraid to ask.....it's okay, and we don't mind questions. When asked how he's doing, it shows you care.
We love having our children, grandchildren and friends come to our home to visit! We enjoy going places, as long as we don't go where there are large crowds and loud noises. It confuses people with Alzheimer's........ I don't have Alzheimer's, and it can confuse me too.
And I say, "Thank you God for family and friends".............

Ah, so true. I took Wayne out yesterday. As soon as he sat down in the restaurant, I could tell it was no good. We left and found a quiet spot. Happy New Year to you both. Love J
Hi sweetie, this is so true.. Mr.P hasn't left the house for 30 days now.. I'll try and get him out tomorrow with the temps rising.. then again on Wed for a doctor's appt. He does well when we have visitors but for a short period of time, then you can see him drifting away and he's ready for them to leave. This disease makes me so mad and sad athe same time. You would think with all the modern medical steps we've made in the last decade they could find a cure.. for the most part Mr. P does well.. it's me that struggles. Struggle to try and make it as easy on him as possible...guess I've vented enough.. I hope this finds David as well as you doing well my friend..
hugs ~lynne~
One of the reasons you have so many caring friends and family is because YOU HAVE always been such a caring person to others!!! You're getting back what you have always gave!
Love you!!! L~
Happy New Year Dolores! I agree - loud places confuse me too. I hope David is doing well.
Hugs,
