A Copycat Post... of Sorts....The Simple Woman's Daybook

Our daughter posted these thoughts on her blog today, and I thought it would be fun if I follow along behind her..... mine in the blue.... Karen's in the black....
I saw this on one of the blogs that I follow and thought I'd give it a whirl...(to read more Simple Woman's Daybook click here: http://thesimplewomansdaybook.blogspot.com/
Today... February 1, 2010

Outside my window........it is a dreary, rainy February day - the clouds are low and I haven't seen the sun all day.
Outside my window....it's night time...dark and misty.

I am thinking.......I can't wait for spring when I can start planting flowers outside.
I am thinking..... I can't wait for spring when I can start digging in the dirt and  planting flowers outside.   (you can tell we're related.)

I am thankful for........my mom...my family and that everyone gets along so well together and for all the supportive comments that my blogger buddies leave me.
I am thankful for.... my daughter... my family, my friends, God, my church, our home, our freedom, our pets.... and that everyone in our family gets along so well together, and for all the supportive comments that my blogger buddies leave me.

I am wearing.......Faded blue jeans with one of my favorite shirts that I bought last year at Costco and Birkenstock slip on shoes.
I am wearing....a pale green cotton night gown and brown socks.... (eek)

I am remembering........ how much fun hubby and I had playing badminton together the other day and how great it was hearing the children cheering us on
I am remembering.... how much joy I've had over the past 2 weeks that David is doing so well.....thank you God!

I am going...to give the children hugs and kisses in little bit and then watch The Bachelor on the DVR
I am going..... to take a hot bath, read, and go to bed.

I am currently reading........Reclaiming Virtue and Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World... I'm also reading Charlotte's Web and Leading Little Ones to God to the kids among many other science and history books
I am currently reading...."I'm Still Here"....."The Comfort of Home"...and for the umpteenth time "To Kill a Mockingbird"

I am hoping........that the gloomy weather doesn't last too long
I am hoping...... David will continue to stay the same.......

On my mind........ relationship with my husband
On my mind........getting IRS information together for the CPA

Noticing that....... Cassandra started calling me MaMa and how much better we can communicate with each other. Our relationship continues to blossom and unfold.
Noticing that......even with Alzheimer's in our life..... we have a great life.

Pondering these words........ "To be told we are loved is not enough. We must feel loved." ~ Lauren Hutton
Pondering these words......I would have to repeat what Karen said......and .... I do feel loved..... Thank you God....

From the kitchen.......Broccoli cheese soup is on the menu plan for tomorrow. Over the weekend we enjoyed Cream of Chicken noodle soup.. yum! I love soup!
From the kitchen..... David is taking his pills and the dishwasher is humming.

Around the house........Earlier in the day David, Laura Anne and Sarah were playing follow the leader, Cameron doing homework on the computer, Cassandra and Ellie were making a bracelet together. We started a lapbook project on the Olympics and the kids had fun with an experiment we did for science. They applied lotion on their hands and I sprinkled glitter on them to represent germs. They tried to get the germs off with a paper towel, cold water and finally discovered that only soap and warm water would do the job best.
Around the house .....I did laundry..David sorta folded clothes, I prepared meals and cleaned the kitchen, we went for a ride in our new car, and I worked on organizing income tax papers.

One of my favorite things........Our cats
One of my favorite things........Goodness, so many favorite things, but right now... when I turn around from the computer, I see our dog and her friend on the day bed....right now, one of my favorite things...... our dog and her friend.
God is Good!

Dolores - what a sweet post! Yep I can tell you two are family! Looks like you raised a wonderful, caring young lady there. She's a chip off the old block I would imagine! (that's kind of a sideways compliment isn't it? but I meant it as a compliment!)

this is fun! I am thinking T. and I could write a book this way. Her perspective on life is a little different than mine. Youth is flagrantly optimistic, I am somewhat jaded.
Such good news about David! I pray it will last.
hugs,
J

That's so cute! My daughter and I have many moments like that, esp at meals I say what I am making and she is having the same thing.. too funny.
Yesterday took my MIL for a hernia surgery in the middle of the night she was upset because she was in pain she could not remember having surgery.... one day at a time.... at least she has no fight in her for the next few days I know where she will be... in bed resting.
Take care
