"LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WEATHERING THE STORM, ...IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN"

Friday, September 24, 2010

It's been a week since I posted, and that's a good thing.   It seems that I usually post when there's been a change or something unsettling going on with David.
We've had a good week!!!
HOWEVER.......The roller coaster of Alzheimer's continues tonight.   Not a good evening..         I should have posted my first paragraph, and stopped there.

I need a happy thought/memory, and found this picture of David with our first grandchild.... 19 or 20 years ago.....    These are the memories I want to remember...... and I will.
Tomorrow is a new day..... YEA!!!

And I say, "thank you God for some very good days."

Dolores I am so glad you and David have had a good week. I know how it feels to have good days and then a bad thing will happen. But God's mercies are new each morning. I am so thankful for His promise to never leave us or forsake us. Though we walk through deep waters, rivers of sorrow shall not overflow.

Wishing you an uneventful night and a wonderful weekend!
God bless!! Mary

I also pray blessed boredom (that kind we all cherish sometimes when life is all up and down rollercoaster-y) would be yours for the weekend and beyond.

I was struck by this photo, in that David reminds me a lot of my husband's father (who passed away last year). Mark has always described his dad as a "lap Grandpa", by which he meant that his dad was never happier than when he had a grandchild on his lap.

The love you all have for each other is so evident in the photos you share. I can see why you would have the desire to surround yourself with remembrances of your priceless earthly treasure---which is the ONLY treasure we will take with us into eternity.

Sleep well, friend. XO

Glad you had a good week, the Alzheimer's coaster does flair in the evenings more doesn't it?
I hold you in my heart and prayers. judi

Dolores,
You are teaching me for my road ahead and I do pray God's strength for bad days and your continued gratitude for the good days. One day at a time, isn't it!

I'm glad you had a good week, even if today was a bad day. Clynt was off yesterday - nothing pleased him. It was difficult.

You're in my thoughts always!

Hi Dolores - sorry ya'll had a crummy day, but I'm glad you had a pretty good week. Keep thinking those happy thoughts - go back and look at those great pictures when David was well! I hope ya'll have a good weekend with no ups and downs!

I was so encouraged to read that you had a good week, but then sorry to hear that David was having a bad evening. I hope things will change back to being good real soon. You are so right in saying that it is an emotional roller coaster.
The picture you shared is just precious. I'm sure it is also hard for the grandchildren to watch their grandfather go through this, but one thing they will always know is that he loves them.
Take care, dear Dolores.

A good week is wonderful, so is a good day heck I will take a good hour anytime.
All is well here, confusion galore but I can handle that its very minor in the big picture.
My son comes home for 2 weeks I am so happy to have him home and have normal conversations, I miss that.
Diane
Wishing you another great week !!

Hang in there, Dolores. I think you are doing a wonderful job with your hubby. Matter of fact, I admire you so much. I hope I can be like you someday if need be.

Tomorrow is another day and it's Sunday - the Lord's day! Try to relax some.
