THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
“God doesn’t make the bad things happen; rather, bad things happen to try to separate us from God. Financial hardship, sickness, death of a loved one… all have within them the possibility of separating us from God. It is important to stay strong in your faith especially when your faith is being tested.” Have an awesome day today my friends! – Elmer Laydon
dolores, thank YOU for reposting the thought. it's exactly what we've been going through for six years...only we didn't recognize it as a testing of our faith until a couple of days ago during prayer time. we believe the season is nearly over. PTL.
Yep. Two kinds of faith according to 1 Corinthians 2:5: "that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God." Scripture shows us His power and guidance. I am reading Phillippians this morning. So rich. I see in reading your comments from your lovely friends on this blog people looking after the interests of this couple going through suffering (Phil. 2:4), and Dolores doing all without grumbling (Phil. 2:14). Love these verses also: Phil. 4:13 and 19. Just got to hold on to those promises of our faith. They help me when I feel sorry for myself--bring me up short, and call me back to Him. Carol
Faith has gotten us through many things in the past and will again in the future. We just sometimes need a reminder - thanks Dolores. Stay strong luv. God hears your prayers.
I may need to print this off and keep it handy for those times that I need a gentle reminder. Well said and thank you for sharing it with us. Wishing you and David a GOOD week.
Lovely and timely words that should affect us all, Dolores. We'll fight the good fight and persevere! I've been thinking about you and David alot lately as we deal with Tony's mom...thinking about the different stages of this disease and how to anticipate and prepare ourselves for the next one. Just one day at a time...it DOES help to teach us patience and perseverance and above all, strengthen our faith. We can't see the end but we know that God will get us (and you, too) through these times. May He fill you with comfort, peace, and tranquility in the coming days, Dolores.
Amen to that, Dolores! The pictures on my blog are actually from last year. Our trees are still green and it's a lot cooler, nice sweater temp. I am sure the leaves will change pretty fast if this weather persists....Christine
