My friends, thank you so much for your comments concerning Lily. You are the sweetest/kindest people! I hesitated about posting about Lily, because my blog is primarily about the ends and outs of living with Alzheimer's, but it's also my journal of our life right now, and this precious little kitty was definitely a part of our life. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and understanding.
I wanted to respond to anonymous about having Lily put to sleep. I didn't say on my post, but I will now ......Lily also apparently had internal injuries. Not only were her legs paralyzed, but she was also throwing up and had diarrhea from being squeezed so tight for so long in her stomach area.. This was the last thing we wanted to do!
And I thank God for supportive friends.

Morning Girl!!Hahaa...seems you were up a bit early this morning as Well! Hope all is well...Oh, and I hope you don't throw rocks at me for leaving the "elder person" a message on your prior post about Lily...Sometimes...I get a little cranky without my coffee...Lolol...feel free to "erase" it...
Sweet day to you, and get some rest!

Arggg!
Tmi, Tmi!!!
Anonymous didn't deserve an explanation, and from Vancouver, WA?
And 64... ??? That is just to close to home.
I'd like to smack that person. It is an individual who has no self esteem, no pride, no respect for others to leave an anonymous comment.
Ah, well, you reap what you sow.
hugs and prayers. Judi
You shouldn't feel you have to respond to someone that can't even put their name on their rude comment. This is a hard enough time without people being negative and speaking on a subject they have no knowledge of.

Good lord. None of us puts an animal to sleep without reason. We do all we can first. Some people have absolutely no class - and way too much time to be posting anonymous comments on blogs.
Just delete the comment and move on. As for anonymous - go fly a kite!
You did what you had to do to ease her death, it is always hard, but rather than let her suffer...
I can't believe someone would respond like that, she obviously did not understand the situation but still it is hard to believe she would leave a negative comment, especially in a trying time like this.
Not to worry, you know you did the right thing and that is what counts.
Dolores,
You can approve all comments on your blog if annonymous strikes again. Perhaps he or she will write to apologize first, however. Hope so.
The grief of this experience is hard enough on top of your caregiving stress.
Thoughts and prayers,
Carol
Dear Friend, keep moving through life with your pure and loving heart. You are a beautiful presence and you inspire all of us every day. Even though Annonymous made us all mad, he/she might be an unkowing soul who stopped by for the first time, and without context left a really stupid comment.
Delores: I missed the news about Lily, til this morning.
I am so sorry for your loss of your sweet, impish, comical companion. I know how much pleasure she brought both you and David.
She was a gift, for sure, bringing joy and sweetness to your days. Thank you for sharing her life and her passing with us.
And maybe this is not scriptural, but I cannot believe that our beloved pets will not be among the joys we have in eternity. God created the animals for us and our use, for us to have responsible dominion over. Surely, Lily is waiting to be reunited with her 'people' again.
Take care, Delores.
PS I am sorry that Anonymous was such a ... naughty person. Blech.
I feel so sad for you to have lost Lily.I know it hurts for a long time.
Right now I have a full house, my daughter's 2 cats, Freda and Deuce and they are a couple of playful babies too.Keeps me busy !
Plus I still have my MIL , we just celebrated her 90th BDay yesterday it was quite special for her and for us, we had family fly in for the celebrations. It was a full weekend.
Please dont stress about what others think of your decisions , they are of little consequence and you know what matters and whats best.
Take care
Diane
Aunt D...You absolutely did the right thing! She was miserable...and now she is not. She brought you both pleasure and we don't always know the reasons people and animals come into and out of our lives so quickly...but it's all for a reason...all in God's almighty plan.
I hope you're feeling a little bettr today.
I love you! L~
I am sorry that someone made a thoughtless comment regarding your decision about Lily. Really it was none of their business and you were gracious in your response. I happened upon your blog via your daughter's blog that I have been enjoy for some years now. Your thoughtful and honest writing is so insprirational.
Andrea
