.............................HE DANCED!!!.....................

The wedding was perfect!  It wasn't your typical wedding, but what's typical now days.  The wedding took place at Fischer Hall,  a beautiful old Texas dance hall that was built in 1875.    The bride, groom and all the attendants wore boots and the flowers were Sunflowers.

The pastor drove from Houston to Fischer Hall, a 3 hour drive..... he was Francie's youth minister when she was a teenager.

(David and Francie dancing in our living room when she was 11 or 12)

Francie hoped for a picture of she and David dancing at  her wedding.    I hoped and prayed that he would have a good day on Saturday.     My prayers were  answered,  he had a great day!!!

It's been a long time since I've seen David so happy and animated.
I thought we'd stay for the wedding,  get a quick picture of them "pretend dancing"  and go home.
Our best friends were there, and they were going to  bring David home early if he was having a bad day.
By golly, we stayed for  dinner,  cake cutting, and  he danced with  Francie.
It was a Texas wedding, that's for sure...
Look at the smile on his face.

I pray the newlyweds will always keep God first in their lives.....  and remember  their promise....to  have and to hold,
for better – for worse, for richer – for poorer,
in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death.
And I say, "thank you God for a beautiful day!"

Dolores,
You had your bases covered and it sure turned out better than expected. So happy for this.

Now that water tower (is it?) sure makes it a Texas wedding and the "GAME OVER" T-shirt with the bride and grown on it is wonderful. Also some three of you--you, David and your daughter holding hands.

Yes, people do cry at wedding for all kinds of reasons.

This post brings me to tears of joy to know David did so well and you got a picture of them "Really" dancing and not pretend. The lord above sure answered so many prayers and I am so ticked to know all went well. What a beautiful couple and that is my kind of country wedding.
A good ole shindig.

What a beautiful wedding. Oh, and isn't it wonderful that David had a wonderful time. I love it when those good days arrive. Sometimes I think it is a blessing in a way...things that others just take for granted seem like million dollar gifts from God.

Oh my gracious! What a sweet blessing from God! I have tears in my eyes as I read your sweet family memories - and am smiling so huge!!!!! God is so good! Praying for you today! :)

I wanted to thank you for your article about the long term care plan, as well. I popped over here because of the Ultimate Blog Party. I had added you to my list of fellow grandparents during the 2010 party, and was going through that post. I'm going to link to that post in my upcoming Blog Party post :) Great info for others who are just starting the process. I'm so grateful my senior mom has it, and I'm taking notes for future as well.

What a wonderful wedding! It reminds me of an Australian country wedding. Mum is also going to a wedding, in November - my daughter's. Last week she bought a beautiful designer dress to wear (don't even ask the price!). She loves the dress and keeps taking it out to look at it. It amazes me that she doesn't forget that the wedding is in November and that we will be going there by plane. You've reminded me though, that I need to have a plan in case Mum has a bad day and needs to be taken home.
