A NEW SUPPLEMENT

I promised our best friends that I'd call them if I was frightened or had a problem.    There's a first time for everything, and the other night I called,  they came.

It was 10:30 pm and David was experiencing some anger/paranoia ...... it took awhile for him to calm down and go to sleep.
Our friends stayed until he was asleep.  What a blessing they are!!!

I made an appointment with the Neurologist the following day, and the doctor suggested taking the 2 Aricept in the morning, rather than night, and he suggested a supplement for relaxation and sleep   from the health food store.   Two nights in a row,  and he's slept all night.  YEA!

HAVE I NOT COMMANDED YOU? BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS. DO NOT BE TERRIFIED; DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED, FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL BE WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO."
Joshua 1:9
Our daughter's family came for the day yesterday.   David was in a happy mood and enjoyed getting his hair cut.

There are 5 things in life you cannot recover: A stone...after it's thrown. A word...after it is said. An occasion...after it's missed. The time...after it's gone. A person...after they die. Life is short. Break the rules. Kiss slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile, Enjoy Life ..
The children enjoyed playing in the pool.
God is good!!

Thank you for stopping by Dolores. Yes, thank the Lord for good friends.
Going out to dinner is certainly a thing of the past for us and has been for a long while now. Sometimes I get so tired of cooking and the kitchen but I try make the best of it. It' exciting trying new recipes. I understand about your post today, when my mom was at the home I was friends with the relatives of the patients that had Alzheimer's.
You are in my prayers.
Blessings...Lu

How scary that must have been for you but GOD truly did bless you with friends and very special one's like those that come running, then I dare say your cup runneth over. I also have heard that extra strenght tylenol will help with sleep.

Your family is in my prayers.

That must have been a scary thing. You are very fortunate to have friends close by that can come over and help. The moral support they gave you is a real blessing.

I'm playing catch up this evening and read your previous post about Olive Garden. I'm sorry things didn't go well. I'm starting to realize that we were probably fortunate in that my Dad was very hard of hearing. I didn't realize at the time.

Dolores...I'm so glad to read you have such dear friends near you. And I'm glad you called them. I have been through this with my mom, and I know firsthand how frightening this is.

The bible quote is beautiful, and so true. What would we do without faith?

I wish I lived near you. I would be another friend you could call...and I would come.

Hugs to you~xoxoxoxoxox

Your friends are very dear. I could hug them myself. Even though having to call them must have seemed awful, if it helped the doctor suggest something different that works, then we can see that everything works together for good. What a happy, sweet smile Dave is wearing while having his hair cut. It does feel good to get unshaggified. ☺ Much love to you...

So glad you could get right in to the neurologist and arrive at a solution at this stage. Wonderful friends, family and philosophy in your post. Wonderful affirming Scripture. You amaze me with your journey.

Hugs and prayers,

Kiss slowly, I love that. Dolores, you have inspired me so much with your words today.

Dolores, thank the Lord for your dear friends. Friends are truly a God-send. The ones that will stand by you and with you and in front of you.

I'm also thankful for medicines to help ease our loved ones through this scary time. I hope that combination of drugs will help David avoid those angry times and help you get some much needed rest. God bless you both!

So glad you made arrangement ahead of time - my neighbors told me to set my car alarm off if I needed help urgently - it was a real comfort.

Your friends sound like wonderful people. I'm so glad they were there for you. I'm hoping and praying that the change in medication will be what is needed to prevent any more scary episodes.
I absolutely LOVE your quote about enjoying life. I think I am going to print that off as a daily reminder to myself.

Dear loving Dolores, you always manage to transcend create and spread comfort in your posts: positivity arising phoenix like out of your own trials and adversity in your journey with David. You are an inspiration! Hope you dont mind but I have already (with due credit to your blog) used your earlier quote about love in a post to a support group I belong to of parents in families struggling with mental illness. Your '5 things'are powerful and I would like to share them too.
