GOOD DAYS!!!!

David with three of our grandchildren.....

Before I started my blog, our daughter would say something concerning her blog friends, and I 'didn't get it'...... I simply couldn't imagine having friends over the internet. Well, I get it now!! My blog friends are absolutely wonderful! I look forward to reading your blogs and hearing from you........ and what a wonderful support system you are!!! Thank you!

Yesterday was a good day, and today is even better. My mood was really down the other night. David and I had been sitting outside, and I said to him, "we are so blessed, we've had such a great life." He looked sad, and said that he was glad to hear that we'd had a great life, because he couldn't remember"....... he went on to tell me how terrible it is to lose your memory. BREAKS MY HEART!!!

David was my boss at Coca-Cola in the 1960's......he told me the other night that he didn't remember Coke....... However, today.... out of the blue.......... he said, "we need to get in touch with Reba, I'd love to visit with her." David and Reba were like salt and pepper at Coca Cola, they respected one another, and worked well together for many years. He then reminded me that Reba was the one responsible for us getting together. (Our work companion and friend..... oh.... so many years ago).

I called Reba today.... so many tears.....we're meeting on Thursday!!!

And I say, "thank you God for good days..... good memories.......and Thursday."

AN EXCHANGE OF CHILDREN

Yesterday was an exchange of grandchildren. We exchanged Ellie for nine year old Laura and seventeen year old Cameron. Laura usually gets homesick within the first day or night of being here. So far so good....she hasn't said a word about missing her family....... I think she's having too much fun playing with her nine year old cousin, Andrew, who came over to play.

The terrible heat that we're having has really put a damper on David's walking. Before the high temperatures, he had been taking long walks several times a day. The walking helped to fill his day by giving him something to do besides watching TV or reading......not to mention the exercise.

It's so hot and sunny that we can't go swimming until after 6:00, but I am so thankful that we have our pool.

I love this picture of Cameron and David!

I love this one too!!!

And I say, "thank you God for cool water on hot days."
