I gave her Joshua 1:9........"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
This was May of 2004, little did I know at the time, how much comfort this particular scripture would give me as I was suspecting that David had Alzheimer's................The Bible is full of comforting words, and this has helped me and has given me a lot of comfort. The first year of 'knowing it was Alzheimer's'..., I was truly discouraged and terrified.........I'm so thankful for words of comfort, and I thank God that I am no longer discouraged and terrified.
This simple prayer has also given me comfort............
Lord,
We all have problems in life. We don't understand why things happen to us and to those we love, but we do know that you are always there to help us and that you give us the strength we need because your grace is sufficient. In Jesus' name..Amen
I thank God for HIS written word, for the peace it gives to me, for my Sunday school class and our Church family.

Until she could no longer read, my Mother's comfort was her bible. When she couldn't read, I read to her and played all the hymns she loved on her CD player. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir was singing softly as she passed away in my arms.
I love the scriptures you have her Aunt D. I've come back here several times and read them.
The pics are in the header pic...they hang on both sides of the china cabinet. Love you!! L~
