Yes, even though Alzheimer's is alive and well in our house each day and night, life is still good.
How can I not be happy looking at God's wonderful creations.
(Lily Bud)
Thursday was David's six month appointment with his neurologist. Only a couple of questions were ask of him......what is the date? He said, "Thursday" (correct), what month? He didn't know. Second question: Who is the President? He didn't know..., but I was so pleased that he knew it was Thursday.
David takes 20mg of Aricept. When he's finished with this prescription, he'll start taking 23mg, which will be one pill instead of two. I doubt 3 extra mg's will make any difference, but what the heck...... might as well try.
Each afternoon David sits outside and enjoys watching our animals. I love the look of contentment on his face.
In the picture above he's looking up at the sky, seeing something that only he can see, but he's happy, and that's the main thing!
Our next door neighbor's dogs came over to visit. Lily is teasing the dogs in these two pictures.
So.......like I said, "life is good"......I thank God for all the beauty in the trees, flowers, animals...and I thank God that we've had another good week!!!

I am happy for you! Such wonderful pictures of David and the critters that live with and next to you. That Lily is so funny! Hope you continue to have good days this next week.
hugs and prayers, Judi
Isn't it wonderful that everyone is enjoying the beauty this time of year! Your animals are so fun, Lily sure is a tease! Wonderful pictures and I bet David is trying to decide what the clouds look like. We use to lay in the yard and imagine this one was a train and that one, a teddy bear.... Happy Days!
That Lily, look at her tease the dogs! She actually adds beauty to the fountain though.
Your place is so pretty and tranquil, I can see how it adds to David's calm, and yours.
Yay, He remembered it was Thursday!
It is always such a joy to read your blog when you find beauty and joy in the simple and ordinary things. You are such an encouragement to me with this blog, and I thank you.
You are a good photographer, Dolores, and live your faith. Thanks again for another wonderful post.
Carol
Dolores, these photos are wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing.
I once had a professor share with me her thoughts on dementia.."she said that a person's "true" personality comes through at this time"...I'm not sure about her observations but it struck me that David is certainly a truly kind and loving soul in spite of this frightful disease...Those dogs and cat are so cute...great entertainment for anyone...I certainly enjoy our animals. Wishing you another week of happiness dear friend!!!
David does look content and really what else is matters !
I am gaining some headway in placing my MIL, at least she has a caseworker now and I am getting someone to come in a bath her. They put her on an urgent placement list. Finally someone listened to me and actually heard my words....

How wonderful that you have had another good week. Your backyard sure does look pretty and I think your garden bench looks like the perfect spot to sit, soak up the beauty and feel closer to God.
It looks like David and the animals are quite content in this lovely spot. I got a kick out of Lily's antics.
May this week be another GOOD one.
Yes, but what IF the 3mg makes a difference? Happy thought!
Your animals look like they're having fun, which I'm sure is fun for David to watch.
I've found that all we need to know is the day. Who cares what month it is!
Hi Dolores....Did you know that ABC is broadcasting a nightly segment this week about Altzheimers disease? (Diane Sawyer and the nightly news program.) It is called -"A Woman's Nation Takes on Altzheimers". Just wanted to make sure you were aware of this. Thought perhaps you would want to watch it.

Your yard is so beautiful with all the flowers, Dolores. Your pets are so cute and so happy enjoying the surrounding....Christine
I loved looking through your pictures today and hearing about what is happening in your world.
I pray an extra 3 mg of medicine might produce some noticeable improvement. Maybe...
That Lily Bud is a scamp, isn't she?? She has those dogs all in an uproar. (chuckles)
Your yard is just lovely; the autumn sunshine is extra golden and warm. Have a great week, friend.
Your yard is so pretty and peaceful! So glad David enjoys the animals, he does look content.
