********MORE GOOD DAYS!!!*******

I don't know what's going on, but I'm not going to question it........David's  having another good week!

I was cleaning out my file cabinet last week, and came across a file of poems,  old letters, cards, and sayings ..etc ..that I've collected over the years.    Gotta share this one:

One day at a time...this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.
Ida Scott Taylor

This is exactly what I'm doing right now......we never know how long the good times will last, so I'm enjoying every moment!
David had a visit from his baby sister on Sunday, he remembered her, and really enjoyed her visit....thank you Sandi, for being such a good 'baby sister'......
God is good..... and I'm so thankful for the good days!!!

Memories are oh so special. I'm glad he's having another good week. We had company this evening which is rare, very rare. Mr. P truly enjoyed their company. Usually he doesn't visit much when we do have company, like you I'll take the good days for as long as they happen. hugs ~lynne~

I always love reading posts like this one. God is so good, and I never tire of reading about good days for you both. How encouraging too, to know there can be good days for the Alzheimers' sufferers and their families.

I'm so happy you've joined WW my friend. This will be something good for you. Something positive to make you not only feel better, but stronger.

I'm rejoicing with you over David's good week. We leave on Saturday for another trip to Nebraska. Steve's mother gifted him with his Father's Truck and we are taking our Miss K with us. It will be the first chance many people in Steve's family will have to meet her. We also want to take her to see his dad...

You bless me. Love, Rebecca

Wonderful! I'm so glad that your sister-in-law's visit went so very well and that David enjoyed the visit. Some things are meant to be received as gifts without questions so you're doing the right thing to keep right on enjoying the good times without any fears for what the future might bring.

So glad you had another good week!

The photos are wonderful, Dolores. Sometimes you can't recognize adults from their childhood photos because their faces change so much. Not so in David's case - he's recognizable even from an early age.

No matter how many changes this terrible disease has wrought, the David that you have known and loved for so many years is still in there somewhere. The photos prove that. Maybe there's some comfort in that.

Love
Gilda

What amazing photos, they are so beautiful. I was talking to an old friend yesterday on the telephone. We have known each other for 47 years. We talked about how everyone was doing and laughed about old times.

I told her that living with someone with Alzheimer's really makes you live in the moment. It has taught me to count my blessings and embrace the good days.

I am so happy that you are enjoying another special window. God is good.

Great news!! I'm so glad to hear it.
I'm also glad you shared that quote. It is so true, but an occasional reminder is often needed by me.
How wonderful that David and his sister were able to enjoy a visit together.
Wishing you both a Happy 4th of July.
