WHAT A BLESSING!!!

SOME FRIENDS COME AND GO
SOME WILL BE THERE FOREVER
The beach two years ago, Port Aransas, Texas
Love..... Acceptance...Understanding

A few weeks ago, the neurologist suggested David try playing his guitar again..... I took the guitar out of hiding, but.... David  couldn't and  wouldn't try playing it again.

So, what does best friend do....?   He came over with three musical  instruments, hoping David might try and enjoy a tambourine,  xylophone, or maraca.

With encouragement David shook the maraca a few times, then laid it down and started clapping again.
It was the thought that counts.  This gesture of love and caring was so very sweet!

David claps his hands together or claps his leg almost all day long as he's listening to his classic country channel.
The clapping sound has become very comforting to me.  I know when he's clapping, he's in a good mood.   When he's quiet, he's either sweeping or sad.

We've had a good week........what a blessing!!!

I wonder if you keep the instruments around if he might try them again...

It's so nice of your friend to do that for David. Indeed a true friend.

Thinking of you!

Many times friends do not know how to keep up a friendship with an Alzheimer's patient. But being with them, checking in, is so important. Our alzheimer's loved ones are still there! They need oiur love.

Sweet pictures!

Bugs and prayers,
Carol

It's wonderful that best friend is there, doing what he can, even if it didn't work. Wish there was a magic wand for your husband. A magic wand for all of our loved ones who have or had this disease.

Oh my goodness, Dolores!

I didn't mean to sign "Bugs".

Should have been "hugs" above.

You are always so positive on this blog--you "move ahead".

On the issue of "bugs", however, it bugs me when people, even family, who used to be there for us are no longer there for us. But I guess they don't owe us anything--no vow "for better or worse, in sickness and in health."

We do have the privilege of hugging, not bugging, all we know, with the LORD's help.

Wanting to hug you in person for your sweet attitude,
Carol
