MY RAMBLING THOUGHTS

I don't know who wrote this, but I love it!!

Be kinder than necessary,
For everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Live simply, Love generously,
Care deeply, speak kindly,
And pray continually.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
That tells what kind of life you have lived.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
Love the people who treat you right
And pray for the ones who don't.
(the girls playing in the cold water)
Going to the beach was melancholy for me, but life goes on......       I thank God for my precious memories of  the past, present,  and I'm working on looking forward to the future.

I received a beautiful book, card and letter in the mail from my blog friend Janet.   The book 'Hope for an Aching Heart.'     An excellent book...   Thank you Janet!

My church project is keeping me busy.   The photography is finished.   The company photographed 293 families.   I'm now working on the cover and lay-out of the activity pages on the computer.

I'm so glad our daughter said to me at the beginning of this project, "Mom, do you know how you eat an elephant?    One bite at a time."     Her words have echoed through my mind for weeks.... I usually look at a whole project and get overwhelmed.   This has been a good lesson for me..... one bite, one step at a time..... and so it is with my life right now.... one day at a time.

I'm doing well.   For those of you who've asked....thank you so much for thinking of me.   I love hearing  from you.
Today was confirmation Sunday.  Our grandson and our best friend's daughter were confirmed.  It was a beautiful and meaningful Palm Sunday and confirmation service.   I wished David was sitting next to me, but he's in a better place.
God is good!!

Its funny, I had just blogged a few days ago about how to eat an elephant. I guess that analogy works for so many situations in our lives. I hope you have a lovely week

It made me so happy to see a new post from you, Dolores. I have thought about you often in these past few months.
It sounds like your work on the directory is moving right along and will be a great feeling when it is totally complete. Your daughter provided a good way to look at it... one bite at a time.
Congratulations to your grandson on his confirmation.

You ran through my thoughts yesterday. I have not been on the computer which feels like months but dropped in on some blogs Saturday? I think it was after leaving just a few comments I logged off and back to packing up the house. I gather that is why you popped into my mind.... I did not remember seeing a post from you so I am taking a brief to check in on you today. GOOD to see your post and to know you are keeping busy, sounds like a big project and one that is Soul filling. With you at the helm, it will be stunning. Good to know you have a smart daughter that gives good advise. ONE bite at a time.... Not a bad suggestion at all. I think I can use her advise as well, for I too look at the big picture and freak out. With our pending move to a smaller house I am crying out to GOD for his strength. Its the same prayer I kept praying for you...for GOD to give you strenght and to comfort you.

I do love how your post started out; YES, we all need to read that daily and to etch it in our minds. I have learned that everyone is going through some trial or daily battle and needs a smile and a prayer.

Blessing on your grandson on his comfirmation, GOD is well pleased.

GOD keep you and bless you with family and friends and more tasks to keep you busy for His kingdom.

I love that poem also. I have an elephant project to do also--dissertation on being an Alzheimer's caregiver and I have to be one as well. You have always inspired me.

Do you have time to play Words With Friends with me now?

Hugs and prayers,
Carol

There you are! Your daughter shared some great advice...works for everything. Sounds as if it is a big, challenging job with the reward of knowing your work will help tie a church family together.

Glad that you don't isolate and that you push yourself to do things. That book sounds like a wonderful one.

Love to you...

I love reading this new post from you. I see you are a blessing no matter the circumstances, and I see only a fraction of why your David loved you so much. This is a good thing for me to read. Thank-you.

Hi hon,
What made me so happy checking on you was seeing how many people are keeping you in their hearts, on their minds and in their prayers. Having a good support system is such a huge help. I so appreciate you keeping in touch with me and keeping me in your prayers as I do you. It is so hard losing the love of our lives but the LORD is good. We'll both be okay. Thank you so much for taking time to read my story and leave a comment in my blog. God bless you, my friend.
Congrats on your grandsons special day.

Hi Sweet Friend Dolores,
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it. I am enjoying spending more time with hubby, shaved him yesterday and cut his finger nails. We have to take advantage of the time we have together, as you well know. Congratulations to your grandson. It was wonderful hearing from you and know you are busy so I appreciate it even more. Happy Easter my dear friend and thank you for the prayers.

Hello dear friend! Just stopping by to say HELLO and that I'm thinking of you!

Hey there, Dolores - I've been thinking about you so much lately and feeling bad that I haven't been around to do much visiting. I hope that you are staying busy and keeping your mind and heart occupied. I know it'll take awhile to get used to your new "normal", but you will. Love your daughter's advice about the elephant. I'm going to send it to my sister. She is feeling so overwhelmed right now, well, we all are. I think that is very wise advice - one bite at a time, one day at a time, one foot in front of the other... All good things to think about. Sending you a big hug, dear lady!

I like your daughter's analogy. (I think that's the right word.) I'm going to have to remember one bite at a time. I often find myself overwhelmed.

When seeing those palm leaves, this song came to my mind: 'Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest... Lord we lift up your name, with hearts full of praise. Be exalted oh Lord my God, Hosanna in the highest.'
I think of you often Delores.
